Student Voice | Anti-Bullying | Breakthrough - Raising Achievement
At Caludon Castle we understand the need for quality care, guidance and support as the welfare of our students is of paramount importance to us.
We have strong systems which are designed to provide a caring and disciplined environment which supports students to excel in all areas of their learning, and become responsible, caring and active citizens.
Care, guidance and support is managed in the following way:
Years 7 and 8 are in mixed ability tutor groups, supported by a tutor, Year Leader, Year Mentor and Assistant Heads. They meet as a group four times a week.
Years 9, 10 and 11 are in mixed ability tutor groups which meet fortnightly (approximately) to take part in tutorial activities. The team is supported by Year Leaders and Assistant Heads. Additionally each student participates in a weekly academic mentoring session with their Academic Mentor. Academic mentoring is central to the co-ordination of the whole curriculum experience of students; it involves constant monitoring of all aspects of student achievement.
The support teams make full use of internal and external agencies as appropriate to facilitate in removing any barriers to learning that a student may have.
