GCSE RESULTS
The achievement of Year 11 students across a wide variety of subjects was impressive. 67% of Year 11 students achieved 5+A*-C passes, 52% inclusive of English and Maths. 42% of the Year 11 students obtained 10 or more GCSEs at grades A*-C. 94% students achieved 5+A*-G and 97% obtained 1+A*-C. These statistics include a number of vocational qualifications (GNVQ) which carry certain GCSE equivalencies. Health & Social Care and Leisure & Tourism GNVQs are equivalent to 2 GCSEs and Business is equivalent to 4 GCSEs. Double Award Science is also equivalent to 2 GCSEs.
These figures compare favourably with the GCSE performance at Caludon Castle School in previous years and in comparison with Local Authority and national statistics, as shown on the graphs below.
KEY STAGE THREE TESTS
All Year 9 students took statutory examinations in English, Maths and Science in the form of their end of Key Stage Three SATs. The outcome of the examinations for each student was a National Curriculum Level for each of the three core subjects. The table below indicates school performance at Key Stage Three against that of the Local Authority (COV) and national statistics (NAT) over the past three years.
